I have a Spanish made, French used .32 ACP Ruby pistol that my grandfather brought back from WWII.

Like to get it running again as a memory of him and it’s long history. Problem is due to the multiple manufacturers of these things and crude design I’m lacking much knowledge of them. Any good source of knowledge about them?

Doesn’t fire. Seems to cock and the trigger releases but no bang.

Firing pin trimmed down? A lot of bring backs ended up with the firing pins trimmed at some point.

Another possibility is the spring is shot. Really need to take it apart and take pictures of the inside. Might need to measure the firing pin and spring to see if they are worn or broken. Other than that it becomes a guessing game.

ETA: Was thinking after I posted, firing pin might be missing altogether. We're there shallow dings on the primer, signifying a light hit?

Possibilities I can think of:

Trimmed/Broken firing pin
Worn/Compressed spring
Missing firing pin

I'm sure the smarter people might have better ideals and suggestions at to what to look for.

My gunsmith found that my Ruby's ejector needed some work. There is always the gunsmith when all else fails.

Best Regards,

Mark

Several YouTube videos on how to take them apart. Parts are difficult to find and most have to be fitted or made. Numrich has some parts.

Had to make a firing pin for mine. Here's a basic parts diagram.
