Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

A pic of my "carbine" that I built about 15 years ago. Chopped & recrowned the barrel and opened up the vent until the action responded properly. One of my favorites. Very handy & accurate. :)

Here's a pic of my first Build, which pre-dates my carbine by about 6 months:

I miss my FALs and the inexpensive parts kits.

This was the result of an epic build party. The blue tape was used to note the locking shoulder measurement. My FALs are safely outside of my current state. The BGS G-1 went to my best friend.

I can relate Cattus Borealis, in Canada the FAL is prohibited since 1996 so is the AK or AK variant except for the Valmet. Seldom do firearms regulations make any sense. Luckily, my awesome American friends oblige me when I pop down. I'm severely overdue!!!

Burners right, they USED to be cheap to build and shoot.
Over the years I've cobbled together a few, sold a bunch, kept several. The really accurate one's I still shoot and plan to hang on to them.

You've been holding out on me Rob! Next time I'm in new Mexico, I'll be looking to see those FALs in person. I will also be sure to bring some treats for the hounds!

I missed out on a G1 about a year ago. I really want to get one eventually. G3 is banned by name in NJ as is FN-FAL and other variants but the G1 is good to go. Very nice rifles.

Here's my DSA STG58 with the walnut Ironwood rear stock I put on it. I like the way it looks now, better than with the plastic stock.
