Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

My L1A1

#1 Post by M67 » Mon Jun 05, 2017 4:20 pm

I did not build this tall beauty. She is an original L1A1 and I bought simply in the shop. She came with this label with specifications.
Best regards again, M67- Franko

Very nice! We cannot own a "real" one even though it is semi-auto only. Our government will not allow the importation.
The rifles like the Radway Green ammo and the German NATO surplus ammo.
Range report is needed!

I'll second that request. That certainly is one beautiful rifle.

When you say you bought it in a shop, was it new when you got it? It looks like it was new?
Wow!

It is from 1959, factory refurbished with added plastics. Barrel like new, gas piston and other gas system parts, like new.

that is a beauty, :D

18 years ago I bought a Australian L1A1 parts kit, I was amassed at the condition it was in, this was a new rifle they de-milled, it didn't have a spec of carbon in the gas system. it was slathered in grease, including the furniture. the gunsmith did a great job remove it from the wood.

well, with a beautiful condition kit like this I splurged and bought a inch receiver, instead of a metric receiver and have that beautiful kit hacked on to make it fit it.

then found a S.U.I.T. sight at a local gun show. even with the ban style flash hider on it, it still looks good, at least it looks like it's suppose to. better then having a naked muzzle or some ugly brake

this has ate and fired everything I have fed it without a issue; south African, brit, german, US .308.
I think I only had to adjust the gas adjuster on one kind of ammo, but I can't remember what it was.

I love the wood furniture on it. real gives it that classy look to it :D
