Well...I have a K.Kale..Pretty straight forward stock.Has the "hood" on the action to retain the rear of the handguard. Have a 1893 Turk, with pistolgrip style Stock [probably got it when reworked to the '38 Standard. It uses a "Ring" on the front of the action to retain the handguard. More substantial "ring" than the Spanish or Chilean retainer which is pretty Light.
The handguards appear the same [so does the stock tho], The Length is about the same. But the Attachment at the Ring is a bit different..The K.Kale has a "groove" that the action Hood fits fairly neatly into. The '93 simply has a "LIP" that slips into the added Retainer.
Now I Have acquired another K.Kale. No Stock! I will put it into that K.Kale stock that I posted awhile back that had the butt repaired...But..Enter the Snag!!! The handguard I have is Wrong The diameter at the Retainer Ring/Hood, is a bit larger..No-Go....I am assuming the handguard I have is for an '03!!!
Can anyone confirm that the Diameter is Larger where the receiver retains the Handguard, on an '03??
It is just a "Fuzz" longer as well..maybe 1/4" or so...
Thanks for Looking...Like all things Turkish Mauser...The things they went thru to have them all "appear" the same, are amazing!!!!
Or...I have an Odd handguard for something else again!!!!!

Keep cruising the for sale areas in forums. You'll find some handguards. You can also check:

Patience and perseverance.

^^^ Yes, and I have a Friend who has a Boat Load of Turkish Mausers and Parts..All Long distance propositions tho.
I would like to get, find, or build, a Pictorial on the Turkish Stocks and specifically Handguards..
As I would like to Determine, with some Certainty, what this suspected '03 Handguard, really is!!
Makes me Wonder How many different Hanguards there really are for Turkish Mausers...I'm Thinking at least 5.
As I can only think of 3 Actions they "Used" as 'Type 38's...but...I don't even Know that Definitively.
ie I have never seen a Handguard for a Modified GEW98 nor an M88....
If I get them in my Hands...I will get the pictures and Differences/similarities and post up the Pictures ...Unless this has been done??
