Got into a locker that I have not been into for 7 years. Two more Turks and no B or K markings yet :shifty: ;

Gew 98 Turked rifle, 8mm, 1918 with Turkish Crescent moon on receiver all other numbers match. :lol: :lol: :snooty: :snooty: What a way to turn a $800 Gew into a $150 piece of garbage due to the moon. And it's the only Turk marked part #-o #-o #-o

Hmmm That "V" is Interesting...I will compare it carefully to the one I have... I have one of those with just a "V" also. No serial either, maybe been scrubbed??
While I do not Like that crescent moon on the 1918 Oberndorf, I could live with it easier than scrubbed whatever it was!!!
Odd you found no "B"'s??? Certainly the crescent appears on most Turk bolt Knobs that I have seen.
Maybe I put too much stock in this??
"A "B" marking for Kirikkale production."

Edit; I can't make this link work right!!!!
From the below page....howzzat?
http://www.turkmauser.com/parts/bolt/boltBody.aspx
And...What I assume [Great Word] is a K.Kale Produced Turkish '38 has a "B" on the bolt...Tho the Numbers do not match the receiver.....
I guess the Only things I really put any stock in right now are the Imperial German markings, and the Crown's of FN and BRNO, as well as the Circled Z!!! all else, to me, is still suspect!!!
OH...Excepting the Flaming Bombs and Star of David...but that aint M98 Stuff....I don't think!!!

Well...Now I have found this '93 Turk, with the "V" I have been wondering about. This one on the Bolt Shroud.

Maybe 2 "V"'s??? one upside down..
I do Not Think the Turkish made any small ring stuff...so...who might we think the original MFG was???
Or, Did it simply get remarked?

That's a Turkish number with Turk numerals. slanted 1 =1 V =7 and the upside down V=8
see Turkish writting http://www.omniglot.com/writing/turkish.htm
so its number is 178
