I have acquired a matching metal action, sadly someone cut the stock. I am now looing for a replacement stock but all I can find is the Indonesia contract replacements without the hand guards. Could it have been this way at some point, Indonesia set up in the 6.5 dutch caliber minus the hand guard.

Thoughts are appreciated
thanks

A hand guard shouldn't be that hard to make. I'm sure there are members here who have the skills, but they might require the use of an original guard to go by.

Some of the Dutch rifles were converted to .303 and given a facelift. Perhaps these replacement stocks were intended for those conversions.
I think the conversions were done in Australia for sale to Indonesia.

PS
The Carbine used by Dutch Troops in the East Indies had no handguard.
