Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Greetings All

#1 Post by SafetyOff » Mon Mar 16, 2020 1:40 pm

Hi All,

My name is Christian and old military bolt-actions are one of my passions, specifically Mausers. My background includes 6.5 years in the firearms industry and I hold a career diploma in gunsmithing (for whatever that's worth). I love learning new facts about historic firearms and military history. Currently on my short list are a circa WW1 GEW98 and a Norwegian Krag-Jorgensen (6.5x55). Below is a sampling on some of the rifles I own:

Swedish Carl Gustaf 1912 M96/38 6.5x55
I'm a huge 6.5 Swede fanboy (hence the desire for the Norwegian Krag); this rifle is one of my hunting rifle. It's outfitted with a Bushnell scout scope and I'd love to harvest an animal with it. I've also owned a Oberndorf-made 1900 M96/38 and a Husqvarna M38 (I don't recall the datestamp).

German Oberndorf 1942 Kar98k 8mm Mauser
Of course, a "Mauser-guy" wouldn't be worth his salt without one of these. It's a Russian-capture, but a fine looking rifle and shoots great.

Turkish Ankara 1940 Model 1903 8mm Mauser
This rifle was an ill-researched online auction buy. Not in the greatest of shape, but a fine wall-hanger/place holder for a GEW98.

I look forward to meeting folks and chatting. Thanx.

Welcome from Arizona! Take a look at the Krags collector forum they may??? have an insight as to where you can acquire one.
