Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Hello Ladies and Gentlemen, and thank you for allowing me to join the Forum. I am an old retired guy from the southwest part of Virginia in the USA. I have recently inherited some military surplus rifles from my father's estate. It turns out that he was quite the collector. As we find and organize the collection I will be posting questions regarding the rifles.

Thank You,
PatB

Sorry to hear your dad passed on. Most of us can help identify or direct you to value books if for some reason you do not keep the items in the family. A few pictures of the items in question go a long way in ID. We can also recommend some books to help identify with great pictures. It is always a puzzle which bayonet goes with what rifle. I have started marking mine due to bad health. If your dad was a serious collector he most likely had a record book of his items, values & purchase price. I am always amazed over the last 45 years how many rifles one can accumulate.
I assume you are a gun owner, but if not, then here are some things that kind of determine the good, the bad, and the ugly in surplus firearms:

To old to fight and to old to run, a Jar head will just shoot and be done with you.
