I got a buddy that has one that might be willing to sell or trade to me, and I know next to zero about Persian guns, although I know quite a bit on mausers in general. I know there are Iran made guns and czech guns, but how do you tell them apart?? Also, what is the difference between the M30, and M49 carbines??

Also, I know I don't have pics, I haven't even seen it myself, but what is market value on these??

photos of M30 see stock differences between its cousin the m49 the stock tells all.

M30 see http://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=36081

viewtopic.php?f=29&t=140083&hilit=+persian+mauser
here is the wayback machine link for the M49 http://web.archive.org/web/201411121249 ... =451612016

prices all over the place, from 400-900 depending on condition, bore, intact stock ect. Those are hard to find at shows. Average seem to be $600 + OR - 100
if you can get it for $300-400 run and grab it

PLEASE POST PHOTOS WHEN YOU GET IT Not many are shown in detail. Thanks

Thanks for all that. Also, I have learned you can tell the difference by the farsi date on the script on the receiver as well. The M49's will have 1328 date on it, the M30 will have 1309, or 1317 on the side.

I haven't seen the rifle, my buddy just mentioned he had it, and said it was a Persian carbine with a short barrel. He did mention the stock had been sanded a bit, and I'm not sure what the barrel is like. Will probably see it next weekend at a gunshow. Will do my darndest to get it, I have a enfield he may want, so a trade and cash may be involved :thumb:

I have a 49 in great shape, except someone sported it by filling in the sling slot on the stock...otherwise all original and in good shape.

Loud as hell. Kicks pretty good, too.
