I've recently gotten back into military surplus firearms after a long stint away. Had joined the Army, went to Afghanistan, and got hooked on black rifle disease bad. Still held a great appreciation for military surplus, but didn't take advantage of the great deals I had an opportunity to before prices skyrocket. Plus sold majority I had minus my M1 Garand and the Savage Enfield (which I'll own forever cause Sandlapper gave it to me)

I had recently browsed Armslist and found a Gew 88 Commission for $150 and snatched it up. All original and matching with exception of bolt, only had the bare 1905 upgrades done to it. That's set me down a dark and familiar path. Soon all I was browsing for was mil-surplus

Some of you have read my recent post concerning my 1943 M44 I got along with some other goodies for $75, just had to buy a new bolt, handguard, trigger/magazine, and screws (all were missing when I bought it). Thanks so aadams22 and liberty tree it's on its way to being back in its former glory.

Christmas was good to me, got some nice gifts and alot of money. Decided I wanted a M91/30 but locally they were sparse and with no gun show soon I didn't know what to do. Thankfully I noticed a listing for a 1944 M44 for $300, all matching before I forked over $299 plus tax for a 1922 hex receiver Izzy.

Only downside to this rifle is that the import marks are huge, but isn't counter bored. Does have a significant wrist repair, but otherwise very good shape. Plus, I now have a 1943 and 1944 M44.

But I think I'm getting Mosinitis, have a T53 for $99 shipped on order and have a deal lined up for a Tula 1938 marked round receiver just missing the front handguard ring and needed a thorough cleaning for $180

Crossbolt in the wrist is a reinforcement not a repair. Hit the import markings with some cold blue to make them less visable.

Everyone of us feels the same way now!

And yes you have a serious case of mosinitus, wished I could help but I am also afflicted.
