I came into possession of 2 stripped Maltby receivers. Here's the info on them:

Year - 1943
Month - None
Serial Number - AK14120
No furniture provided.
Member Name - Bear43

Year - 1943
Month - None
Serial Number - Z23604A
No furniture provided.
Member Name - Bear43

Edit: After much research the second one I posted is a Fazakerley receiver that was reused by Maltby. It has many Maltby inspection stamps but was originally a Fazakerley with non-interchangeable parts.

My new/old No.4/1

ROF Maltby
Serial # AS18450
date - what looks like a poorly stamped "M" and 1943
I really can't address the other questions as the rifle was in sporterized condition when I bought it (I have since put on a replacement stock and fittings to bring it back to more-or-less original configuration). I believe the buttstock was original, however, and I think it is beech.
