This is the 1943 No1 mk 4 Enfield I picked up with 205 rounds of ammunition for $200 US dollars even. It doesnt have a matching bolt, otherwise I think I did ok. Mix/master for sure...Here are the previous owners pics.

I will post more later, and have you all disect the makers marks. The stock does say, 1943 on the forend, under the front sight. Has a non-brass buttplate? It also has a grooved handguard and 2-position rear flip sight. Bore is bright, needs to be cleaned...no pitting. He said no case bulging was evident and it headspaced good.

How did I do? Free because ammo is almost a $1 a round here in the states....

Is that question rhetorical?

I paid $125 or $150 about 4 or 5 years ago for my No4 and got no ammo.
I think you did real good.

It was one of those,...should I pass this up moment. I don't have a big interest in Enfields, but I have always admired the lines of this No. 4 type.

I know about the accuracy of the rifle was helped through numbering the bolt, hopefully it isn't a major hit having one that is mismatched.

You did OK even with out the ammo. What ammo is it? If it's factory or good mil-surp that's a real plus. I'm very reluctant to shoot other peoples reloads, won't do it.
