Howdy! I love a good old fashioned firearm as much as the next guy but when it comes down to a good old fashioned military veteran from years gone past they have always held a place in my heart! Even if most of what I have is Ruskie imports. Hey its what I can afford!! I have a decent Russian Tula 1950 SKS that started my collection at age 13, A Tula 91/30 from 43 and a Ishvesk m44 in great condition from 46. I keep my yard well seeded in steel casings year-round!!! I recently took in an odd ball to the lot a 1918 smle that has seen more miles than a worn out Toyota!!! The poor thing just needs a little more love, and if you understand please sign this petition that might make my wife understand  anywho keep the shiny side up and in between the ditches!

Hi all. As I get closer to retirement I thought it was appropriate to learn more about the guns I inherited when my oldest brother passed away several years ago. The guns include an M1 Carbine, a "tanker" Garand (not sure why people insist on messing with a perfectly good rifle but that's what I got), an '03 Springfield and a M1911A1 (USGI arsenal rebuild mix-master: Remington Rand frame, US&S slide). I added a CMP Garand to the collection recently as well as a modern manufacture 1911 (Remington 1911 R1).

The '03 is an odd duck and I'll post more about it in the appropriate area.

I live in Parker, Colorado and I'm a Systems Administrator at Raytheon to put food on the table. My background includes going to Ohio State in the late '70s.

Cheers,
Dave

Hi, new member from NJ/USA. Only Milsurps to date are an Aug. '42 M1 Garand mixmaster I bought 8 yrs ago & a M91/24 Carcano I'm taking care of for a relative. I recently discovered the great C&Rsenal YouTube series on the guns of WW1. Now, all I want is a M1917! (well, not all I want). I love the Garand, and shoot as often as I can. The Carcano is definitely a work in progress, as I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with it until I discovered the rifle was shooting about 3 ft left ant 100 yds! I've drifted the front sight, and hope to try again, soon.

Hello all. New member who joined your forums for two reasons. First for the shared interest and enjoyment of surplus firearms and second for your active section of postal shoots. With the weather about to break in about a week by me in the southwest area of Chicagoland I'm hoping to get to the range and participate in the current long running 50 yard one. Hope to post some decent targets soon!
