Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Price check Krag–Jørgensen Norwegen M1894 "long Krag"

#1 Post by Kevinofborg » Fri Apr 27, 2018 7:50 am

My LGS has one for sale a 1920 made Kongsburg all matching with cleaning rod nice but sanded stock (?) that you can easily read serial number with some repairs at the wrist using dowels from the top and bottom. Factory repair or owner repair unknown. Bore looks to have strong rifling but some darkness. I have no pictures. Looked at locking lug but did not see anything odd. It is a consignment sale with possible layaway. Priced at $800 plus tax so should be about $866. Ballpark? I was thinking about asking $740 but it has only been there 2 weeks.

Thanks,
Kevin

I know you said (Long Krag) but being there were 20+ model's of this rifle built in 3 different cartridge's it's hard to say, but 800 bucks is a good price............

With the exact model known , it is easier to give a value . The Norwegian 6.5mm Long rifle is the hardest of all the Krags to find . Being a local made rifle is a little more common than a Steyr made . On a rare rifle problems [ like the sanded stock ] do not hurt it as much as a more common rifle . The price seems fair , not a steal , but fair . Easy to get ammo helps some .

Slowbob2,

How would you compare pricing between a M1894 Long Karg and a Norwegian M1912 Carbine? I am going to go back ad look at it again and measure the barrel length. I have been looking at too many pictures of these.

Thanks,
Kevin

Edit....It is a M1897 and it followed me home.

I see the carbines at a 10 to 1 ratio of the long rifles .
