This rifle is all matching and still retains the original leather sling. It was retired from active service in 1933

Ammo is GP90 and has a 6 round magazine. The main difference between the M90 bolt and the Swiss 1893 is the cocking piece

These particular rifles weren't very popular with Swiss troops. The bolt disassembly and assembly is notably tricky in an armoury let alone in the field.

I have always wondered where the statement that they were not popular with the troops came from ? I have a Swiss friend who is a Swiss military rifle historian and he said he never found that in the records nor has heard it stated by any old Swiss .

It only takes one scribe to make a statement and then it becomes fact.
I have seen this statement in many write ups in articles but
as they say not everything you read is correct.

This Rifle was shipped recently from Switzerland.
It has filled a hole in my Swiss Collection.
As far as i'm aware they are not common down here, never seen
one for sale.
