Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Swiss Rifles @ Gander

#1 Post by grazza74 » Wed Jul 12, 2017 2:05 am

Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up, Gander Mountain in Lansing MI has a handful of Swiss straight pull bolt rifles, I don't know models as I'm not an expert on Swiss arms. Priced around 300 with 20 to 40 percent off.

Wow, that's pretty awesome. For your knowledge, the main rifles from the Swiss Army that we tend to see in North America seem to be the K31 (short action). There are K11 (long actions, short rifle) and G1911 or 1896/11 (long action, long rifle).

With the 20-40%, that is a decent price.

Is ammo available at reasonable prices?

The gander mountains in the greater Pittsburgh are closed earlier this year, One of them was very convenient to my hunting property.

I got a few bargains at the gander mountain in Montgomery as they were going out of business, but I sure never saw any Swiss rifles there!

The Swiss GP11 surplus ammo available to us in North America is unmatched in my opinion. You should be able to find it for less than 60 cents per round. Now, I know for surplus ammo that sounds like a lot, however, GP11 is seriously match-grade ammo. If you reload, you can use regular 308 projectiles, boxer primed brass, 175gr pills work very well.

Thats a great price, a few years ago in Canada (at least in my area) k31's and the older k11 and g1911 rifles were going for about 280-300 canadian. Now i have no idea if people took of their blindfolds or what but youd be lucky to get them for 700 or below. The quality and craftsmanship is insane on these rifles so i cant say thats too much but man for them to have jumped that much in just a couple of years is alot. Supply and demand indeed.

Hope you picked up one or two when you had the chance with that sale
