This book on Italian Vetterlis hasn't been out too long & I am way impressed with it! The author really did his research! As well as data on the rifles themselves, there's a lot of historical information - like use by Russia and in the Spanish Civil War just to name two.

$50 from the publisher - probably cheeper if you shop around online. I highly recommend it! Ren

Clearly covers the Vetterli and the Vetterli-Vitali, does it cover the Vettreli-Carcano?

Yes, and discusses how that model was actually used in different conflicts. Also discussed are the 22 Beretta trainers and Carabinerie model (just bought one of those & learned a lot about it).

Described in detail is how the 10.4 caliber Vetterlis were converted to 6,5 caliber. I thought they were just drilled out & a new, rifled liner brazed in place, but it was a much more complicated system than that. Ren
