Matching Parts Swedish m/96 Carl Gustafs Mauser

Some info on matching parts I am sharing courtesy of my friend Thomas (7x57). If anyone could add for other Swedish Mausers that would be great.

Swedish M96 long rifle (Carl Gustafs-made, Mauser and Husqvarna production might vary)

1.) Complete serial no. - Receiver, left side

2.) Complete serial no. - Rear end of barrel, left side (under handguard)

3.) Complete serial no. - Inside of stock

4.) Complete serial no. - Inside of handguard

5.) Last three digits of serial no. - Underside of rear sight ladder, lower end

6.) Last three digits of serial no. - Underside of rear sight slide

7.) Last three digits of serial no. - Underside of rear sight slide push button

8.) Last three digits of serial no. - Front face of magazine box

9.) Last three digits of serial no. - Underside of magazine floorplate

10.) Last three digits of serial no. - On top of bolt handle knob

11.) Last three digits of serial no. - Bolt sleeve, left side

12.) Last three digits of serial no. - Rear face of safety wing

13.) Last three digits of serial no. - Rear face of cocking piece

14.) Last three digits of serial no. - On firing pin

15.) Last three digits of serial no. - On top of bolt catch

16.) Last three digits of serial no. - On top of butt plate tang

17.) Last three digits of serial no. - On rear barrel band, left side

18.) Last three digits of serial no. - On front barrel band, left side

18.) Last three digits of serial no. - On cleaning rod, close to tip (depends on rifle's year of manufacture, however - until about 1911 they were unmarked AFAIK)


Bayonets were also numbered, but AFAIK NOT matching to the rifle:

 
19.) Three-digit serial no. - Blade stem, left side

20.) Three-digit serial no. - Front face of crossguard, left side

21.) Three-digit serial no. - Mouthpiece of scabbard

22.) Three-digit serial no. - On knob at lower end of scabbard
