Seems on this site and a few other most if not all pics come up as a red boxed X. I can't figure out for the life of me what setting needs to be tweaked to view them Any help appreciated..and before I forget I am using Vista.

This could be any amount of things wrong but what browser are you using? Who is your ISP? Do you have a router? Do you have Adblock or something similar running?

Since you're running what I assume is just a standard PC setup with nothing customized and it's through your ISP, it could potentially be a DNS issue. But to be honest, if it doesn't clear up you might want to call your ISP technical support and make a complaint to see if there's something going on or if they can walk you through a setting that your satellite needs in order to operate correctly for internet usage.

Try using another computer or another operating system. See if Linux Mint or PC-BSD will work. If you have a chrome book, try that and see what happens. If you can move the computer close enough to the modem or router, try using an Ethernet cable instead of wireless. One sure way to know what the problem may be is to take a laptop to another network location like a public wireless and see if the same issue happens there.
