Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

First of all I want introduce myself. Total newb to c&r. So far there has been a great amount of information here. Thank you! I was lead over here by a member on another forum that I’m a member of (falfiles). So, here’s what I need help with. I recently picked up a Spanish 1916 project. I’ve got a good amount of parts, but I’m having problems finding parts lists or parts diagrams. I know I need a hand guard among numerous “smalls”. Here’s a copy of the only info that I’m working with:
“Barrelled receiver with hand guard ring.
Assembled bolt, complete except for extractor (has collar).
Trigger with sear and spring, assembled, installed.
Ejector box, stripped (no ejector, no screw).
Front and rear band springs.
Buttplate with screws.
Recoil lug.
Front sight with cover.
Rear sight base, on gun, and sight with adjustment slide.
Front and rear barrel bands.
Rear inlet sling loop (no screws) and forend cap.
Trigger guard with floorplate (military, no screws, no spring/follower).
Stock (broken severely damaged, fair-poor condition).”
Any help or direction would be fantastic.
I’m not too sure if my plan is frowned upon, but I’ve stripped the stock(not cracked) and I’m planning on media blasting the metal (fairly poor shape) then parking it.
I’ve built a couple fals and really enjoy building, I’m looking forward to completing this project, making sure she headspaces w/ a field gauge and take no her to the range.

Any generic Mauser 93 schematic should help you. Below is Numrich's Mauser section, below that is two links to Numrich's Spanish 1916 rifle.

Springfieldsporters is another parts site that has some 1916 parts.

ETA: Plenty of us have an example of this rifle in our collections, including myself. So if you need a picture of a particular part, assembly, etc just let us know and we can post a picture(s) for you.

Re: 1916 Spanish Mauser in .308
Thanks form the links. Theres a good amount of parts there. I've checked Numrich's site and I see theres a schematic/parts list for the m98, but I still cant find one for the m93. I've tried to use my google-fu, yet to no avail. I've found a few parts that I need at Numrich, but I'd like to place only one order as oppossed to three or four. Thanks again

To old to fight and to old to run, a Jar head will just shoot and be done with you.
Re: 1916 Spanish Mauser in .308
I did think about that. There was one on gunjoker that was a fixer upper, but it ended before my account had been approved. I know I need an extractor and I took bolt apart last night and noticed the firing pin is a lil bent... still looking for an exploded view with a parts list
Re: 1916 Spanish Mauser in .308
This came up just by a simple google search for ‘1893 mauser schematic’

Ha. That’s where I got this one... and thank you for the schematic. Alas, my google-fu is weak.DaleH wrote: ↑Fri Apr 20, 2018 12:04 pmHere you go ... project 1916 Spanish Mausers - $99.95!

Re: 1916 Spanish Mauser in .308
That's a large ring schematic. '93 is small ring, almost no part exchange. The nomenclature, however, is almost identical.
I was R.L.E.V.M. on our old forum.
Re: 1916 Spanish Mauser in .308
Once I blew it up bigger I noticed differences. The bolt alone is not the same, so back to the hunt.
Re: 1916 Spanish Mauser in .308
Yes it does. Thank you much. Ive got a good lead on most the parts. Getting on time to park ‘em. I need a hand guard and possibly a new stock. (The stock I’ve got is pretty beat). It’ll get done. I’ll keep the board posted. Thank you again
Re: 1916 Spanish Mauser in .308
How did you go with your project?
Life is tough, tougher if your stupid
Re: 1916 Spanish Mauser in .308
I’ve got all the parts besides the hand guard and front site screw. Everything is at my buddy’s house waiting on the park tank. Would a standard hand guard work with a bit of work to fit the larger 308 bbl? Or are there different hand guards I should keep hunting for? Things are on hold for a bit. I wrecked my bike and lacerated my spleen... so that’s slowed me down quite a bit. On a brighter note the snow is on its way and my season is getting to the slow times. Thanks again for the responses
