Hi all, looking at a local k29. It seems to be a scrubbed model with matching stock. Not sure if bolt is "correct." Guys at $400 OBO. Waiting on bore condition and import mark confirmation. Pictures are enclosed. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks!

You do not show the receiver is it scrubbed or does it have the Polish crowned eagle Crest and FB RADOM with date?

I would say a marked one is a hard find( scarce) , a scrubbed one a difficult find. Missing a cleaning rod?
Bolt is marked Z in circle , but no serial numbers?? The two I actually saw in person had numbered bolts. see this:
http://forums.gunboards.com/showthread. ... Polish-K29

With a crest intact no import mark I would pay $400 in a heart beat. But you need a $45 rod, and check the stock for Polish cartouches???
Check to see how many part numbers match, might be a parts rifle that does not headspace. For $400 I would check its headspace. The stock looks well waxed or coated with something. At $200/250 it would be fair. It seems at current shows prices are crazy and even dogs are marked $300 and up. I'd say it's a shooter, so it best have a nice bore- no pitting or sewer pipe look and headspace on a FIELD gauge.
Now that said, I have only seen 2 in the last 5 years at gun shows in WI. :shhh: :shifty: It seems a lot better Mausers could be found for $400 and up. Just how bad do you want a Polish mauser????

I would want a marked dog. It is always best to buy the best example you got the cash for. That way in 20 years its still a nice rifle that holds its value. Average shooters, or an beat example dog will always be that type of specimen commending a low cost. Great specimens always sell.

Is RW stamped on the receiver under the serial number? Be sure there are no Turkish Cresent moon marks on the bolt-- Taken off a Turk Mauser. Look on the web for examples. libertytreecollectors had an example back some time ago with great close up views.

Liberty trees reference photos specimen is also a scrubbed example:

Paid $265 shipped 2 years ago for a scrubbed one with a good bore. Circle z is a Polish bolt.

It looks like an RW or PW by the serial. Not sure what that is. Back of stock has a PW. Are these Polish stamps?

I'll have to ask to look at it in person then and check headspace.

I looked at my friends 1928 Warzawa Crested Polish Mauser for some similarities. Too bad he won't sell :(
