Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Model 1895 mauser

#1 Post by Hams03 » Wed Nov 01, 2017 9:00 pm

I recently traded for 2 rifles one of which is a ludwig loewe and co mod 1895 mauser. It has the llc commercial crest, i can not find any south american crests, marks or cartouches anywhere. The bolt has a flat bottom like m1893, and the bolt, receiver, and triggerguard have matching #s. The numbers have no prefix, and are low. There are initials carved into the butt. Is this a Boer mauser? Or a South American i am unable to identify.

My father has a model 1908 like that. Dwm crest, no south american markings. What they told me ia that ut is possible for it to be an arsenal rifle that was shipped back. Scrubbed crest and recrested with the company logo and sold commercially

Not sure about this one being like that, it is a model 1895 with a low serial# under 2000 with no prefix with a ludwig loewe crest, ludwig lowe changed to dwm on 1896ish from what i gather seems strange to be recrested llc crest if sent back after 1896.
