I doing a Nationalist Chinese Impression (88th Div-1937), anyone know of any sources or suppliers of Chinese gear and equipment. I recently bought the book "Soldiers of the White Sun", which, if you are interested in the subject and don't have the book, it is fantastic.
Any help with the above would be appreciated.

Also, someone was reproing the M35 helmet last year with the Chine Nationalist symbol on it, but I can't remember who? Mike

I bought a couple of repro Chinese bayonet frogs on Ebay from some company in China. They had other gear. You could search on Ebay.

Regards,
Bill

Probably HIKI Shop, that is where I got my uniform, belt, frog, cloth bandolier....and that is great, but the other items:

messkit
canteen
pack

those seem hard to locate in any type, orig or repro. I wonder if, like German, US etc, there are a few WW2 Chinese suppliers(even of orig items) out there that I do not know of. Thanks, Mike

Im in China working now, and I don't ever see that stuff for sale. They have some Army surplus stores but its all PRC surplus.
I did pick up an Army T, a cap, and a repo army shoulder bag ('serve the people stenciled on it in Chinese") to wear while shooting my T-53 back home. :)

I have seen the mess kits before on e bay.

I imagine Taiwan would be easier to find that sort of koumintang type militaria, but I haven't worked in Taiwan for several years now.

For pins etc., insignias, try http://www.ahagreat.com/ww2-china-kmt-a ... _p508.html

Also for that M 35 helmet see here for a photo.... http://militaria.ee/2010/09/30/wwii-chi ... -restored/

Also try http://www.599bay.com/surplus-wwii-ww2- ... -9750.html

They have Koumintang (Chinese Nationalist) mess kits, canteens etc. broomhandle from the looks of it , mauser holsters etc., if ya look around there. I will keep my eye out on this side of the pond for any old original KMT stuff I run into.

In Taiwan, it's frowned upon (if not illegal) to possess military gear. It may be difficult to get.

You do see a lot of ebay ads originating in China for old military gear. Look for that. You can find old military gear in China, but it's not commonly sold. Most of it sold is in private hands and often are heirlooms, not surplus stores. I know family members back in China have old stuff around. They have silver coins dating to the 19th century as well as old army uniforms and gear from the 30's-60's.

service@fukuo.tw

try the above email. This is from a website in Taiwan focusing on the reenactment and history of Nationalist Chinese troop.

The website used to have a "sale" page of products. But removed now.

If no luck there, let me know. I may be able to link you up with someone.

Also a friend is doing re-enactment in US with a lot of stuff of Nationalist troop.
