Chinese Mannlichers

The site, http://chinesefirearms.com/ has a good bit of info about Chinese firearms in general, but thanks to a guy named Gindenburg on another forum I found out that they had purchased Model 1888 Mannlichers from Austria, and made their own ammunition for them.

Thanks Zeliard for an interesting post.

This subject is largely unknown.
Its very interesting what the Chinese were up to during this period
with firearms development

There's a book titled China's Small Arms of the 2nd Sino-Japanese War for sale on that site (http://chinesefirearms.com/ad2.html), but only the English version is available. Reviews have stated that the best version is the Chinese one, followed by the Chinese/English version, because the images are clearer and in color.
