I found a guy selling the Chinese type 53 mosins on gunbroker for 160. Apparently has a number of them in stock, since I bid on one, and was able to get 4 for the same price. So far the metal has all been in good to very good shape, very nice bores. Wood is fair, a bit chunked, but that's typical for the soft wood the chinese used.

I am thinking that in about 10 to 15 years, I will rent a table at a local show and sell all of my Mosin's for $500 a piece.
Laughable, I know but I think people will buy them.

I am no Candyman, but I have enough Mosin's (36 in total) that if I sold them all at that price I could take my $18k and run to the bank.

I will sell my Tula Hex M44 in excellent condition for $1000.
My 1943 M44 with serial number A117 for $1,500

LOL

Some of the line outs, miss matched, or white marked 91/30s at the last show at Fond du Lac WI were still around $225-245. But all round receiver Izzys. Two counterbored. No bayonet and none had the garbage package/ sling. A mint non fired, cherry, all matching Polish M44 sold at $400 in the first hour.
Too my knowledge none of the 91/30s sold on Sat. The show had mostly US surplus firearms.

I've not been to a gun show in about a year. But, do remember seeing several the last time. Prices were in the $250 range.

Here is an old Empire arms list of 26 Mosins that mostly sold at some hefty prices. This is now out dated. So it should be OK to post. Prices are crazy.
It is interesting to see what sold ASAP the first day. Sold first day 1-5, 10-18, 22, 24, 25-26.

Anyone been watching local resell listings on mosings? Gunshows in Ohio have gotten bad, but armslist is just getting comical with pricing. A 1942 M91/30 listing for $400 is not uncommon anymore. One guy doing that? I get it. Almost everyone? well that is something.

Looks like the surplus gun inventory is drying up , which effects prices. Looks also like SOG is going out of business. Russian sanctions are reported, but what about all the rest of the countries ?
Has there been any laws and directives that I do not know about that are causing this?
