SVT-40 Sniper rifle at 800 yards?

I did an article in '16 about shooting my SVT-40 at 500 yards after tens years of correcting all the problems it had.
The chance to shoot it at 800 yards next Saturday has come up. The rifle is in very good condition but is has been shot a lot in it's life. Mine is a Finn capture. When I got it the gas system was so eroded away that on setting 1.7 could be used tearing the rim off of the fired case. I had to make a new piston and cup in order to use the 1.2 setting.
I've read that only the light ball should be used. Uneducated replies to a question posted by other decades ago said you adjust the gas system to a higher number and you can shoot heavy ball. NOT SO! Doing so is very dangerous to the shooter and the rifle. More gas is used to compensate for poor quality ammo or extreme weather conditions in the field.
Of the surplus ammo or hand loads you have used, what worked the best for you shooting long range? The rifle can only shoot 3 MOA due to use.

Not the SVT, but I have run my PSL way out there to 1000+. Also a Mosin PU to 900. The benefit of having a frozen lake with a high sand bank, a pile of silo blocks, snowmobile and GPS.

Had the best success with Czech 60's light ball. Regulated fairly closely to the scope dope to about 500, then hit a bit high vs. the dialed elevation.

Also played some with the .311 150 gr PRVI FMJ, but only to 300 yards. Was using IMR 4064 based on Lyman Data, but I forget what the charge was. Did that back when the 174 Sierra was unobtainable for awhile and I needed a substitute standard load for vintage sniper. Saved my remaining 174s for the 600 yard line.

I have no experience to share with that rifle. Sounds like fun. Enjoy.

Light ball works best in SVT's IMHO.

The rifle did not do well at 800 yards with Bulgarian Light Ball.
