Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Real PU scope or fake?

#1 Post by FamilyFirearms » Wed Feb 14, 2018 12:03 am

I am looking to trade a Mosin ex sniper for this scope. He claims it is a real scope and set up to be correct for my SVT.

I remember reading that the screws on the top of the towers could help indicate real from fake. Flat screw heads versus round screw heads. Hopefully someone here will remember which type indicated " REAL ". I can't recall which was which or even where I read it.

There are some internet photos that show round head screws.

Yea, flat screws are a big giveaway. One of the reproducers started putting serial numbers on scopes along with mostly progress arsenal marks. I think in 42 the serial numbers had either the a or b prefix (or what kinda looks like an a or b). The simulated wear on the scope body doesn't seem to match the arsenal and serial number marks condition wise.

To old to fight and to old to run, a Jar head will just shoot and be done with you.
