Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Russian Refurbished Hungarian M48

#1 Post by Miller Tyme » Wed Nov 22, 2017 11:03 pm

This is the 3rd rifle of my Hungarian Tri-fecta last year and I am very pleased to have acquired it. Its a 1951 Hungarian M48 that has gone through the Russian refurb system. It is a mix of Russian ( stock, trigger, bolt, magazine housing, rear sight and butt plate) & Hungarian ( action, front sight, barrel bands) parts. It is in great condition and has a good bore. It will make a fine edition the my growing "02" Mosin collection.

There have been between a handful of these turn up mixed in crates of Russian refurbs over the last 5 years. Some wonder if the are rifles taken from Freedom Fighters during the unsuccessful 1956 Hungarian Revolution, which seams to be the most plausable explanation, though there is no documentation to prove this belief.
