Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

On a Russian roll

#1 Post by echo1 » Wed Oct 04, 2017 12:30 pm

Hi Fellas,

Upping my post count.

I've been going downtown lately. While chasing down some pistol ammo, I came across an M38, all matching, bright shinny bore, smooth bolt. Rifle and 200 rounds commercial, 200 Romanian surplus, for $400. I thought that was a good deal. Then last month I traded a rough, mismatched, VZ24 Turk, for an M44 in similar condition. The VZ was a garage sale find for dirt, so I'm happy. I have an outstanding offer out on a 91/30, M44, & M38, we'll see. PAX

SVT40s were so out of my $pending league, I'd thought I'd never get one. But I helped an FFL bud at a show, and on the last day, lots of tire kickers, but no takers on his $1300 '41 Tula refurb. I offered 2 beater mismatched Chicom SKSs & 2 Big 5 91/30s, he said OK. Happy me. PAX

My iron, sold on the street, would have likely fetched more that he was asking, but they were bought long ago for dirt. Although, I would have rather been able to buy his outright. He's got a Garand that I'm drooling over. PAX

Sounds like that guy can get some cool guns! I was gonna try and completely save for an SVT but was told not to pass up on the CMP garand so I got one on order. I have never shot or even held one before I'm beyond excited lol

He's been at it since the $80 SKSs & $400 SVTs, which is what he likely paid for the one I got from him. Before the last SKS spike, I got 2 forced matched Romys from him for $565, 2K Uly X39 @ 2 bucks a box, and a mess of Indian 7.62 NATO. PAX
