Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Spanish Civil War Mosin?

#1 Post by Ghostrider5211 » Sun Jul 15, 2018 10:57 pm

I traded for this last week. I was told with good confidence this was a Spanish Civil War used Mosin. I agree, but some have doubted its authenticity.

She's a beauty. I took her out today for some range time. I forgot how nasty these things like to kick you. By far my favorite Mosin in the collection.

Just part of the discussion me and another guy were having on it. He said there's nothing on this rifle that makes it stand out as a SCW used one. He said besides the import mark, nothing on the rifle really proves it was from Spain. I disagree and honestly i dont care. It's the best looking Mosin in the collection.

That is one thing about Spanish Civil War and Spanish American War used guns.. there are clues that they were there, but there is not alot of Proof.

Picked up a SCW Mosin that had a spanish remanufactured hand guard.. where as there is no proof this was done in Spain, there are other examples of SCW guns with the same wooden hand guard..

Also in this case that cleaning rod looks Spanish.. But no real proof.. The Spanish were not as kind to us collectors as some countries there they stamp everything...
