The machine gun ammo was known to blow apart due to bad brass and poor quality in the loading.

7.7 brass is easy to make from .30-06 brass and much cheaper then norma.

I highly doubt it would kill you, being fired out of one of the worlds strongest actions, but why ruin what little original 7.7 ammo might be left in the world
