Harold, the more pictures you show of the stock has me thinking the stock is walnut. If the stock is walnut, then it was made in the U.S. & was part of a Remington M91.
Remington walnut stocks had the offset crossbolt in the higher fingergrooves, & also were stained the shade of reddish brown that yours exhibits.
The Westinghouse stocks had the lower fingergrooves with the centered crossbolt & their walnut stocks were a different shade, being more brown.

I would have to say that your stock is a Finn. I have never seen a Russian stock with the hole in front of the triggerguard.

Thanks for your thoughts guys. I guess I'm going to have to try to see if I can find out if the E68 under the buttplate can ID the stock.
