Seems to have been awhile since anyone posted anything on a Chinese t53.
Just nabbed today. All matching, VG+ wood, metal 75% no rust. Bore is clean, shiny and rifling
is sharp. Collection of Mosins growing. Yet to shoot it. Will give a range report after I do.

Thanks.....have wanted to add one for awhile. Would love to add another if but for spare parts if needed. Hope you get you one soon Sgt Rock.
Was at a gun show recently, was shocked :o @ the going rates for Milsurps. Prices just keep climbing.
I prowl the Pawn Shops for deals.....but alas, even those have wised up and slap price tags on that rivals the web sellers.

Is that a bring back or does it have an import mark?

Here is an odd one.

A navy arms import marked one here: see

Sadly, is an import w/stamp. I did see one that was a war trophy.
Guy brought back from Vietnam. He was a track commander.
Cool thing about this prize, it had been hit by a claymore. Underneath of
stock was chewed up, the bano had some holes and scorching.
But that thing still functioned....lets one know just how tough these war dogs are.
Oh, how did he know a claymore, he hit the clicker!

Just saw this thread...congrats on a really nice T53!

I don't think any of the ones I have look that nice. I finally cleaned up most of the cosmoline from the worst one that I got from SOG a little over a year ago and took it to the range yesterday. It amazes me how good these Chinese T53s really are. The wood usually looks like hell, but the metal on all of the ones that I've bought has been in good condition. The bores have also been great once I got all the cosmoline out so I could see what condition they were really in. Needless to say, after shooting my beater T53 yesterday, I believe I have the makings of a great shooter...and the trigger is really nice too.

Please update us once you have a chance to shoot yours.
