Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

A ROSS !

#1 Post by Vandervecken » Sat Aug 10, 2019 4:37 pm

Does a Ross rifle fit in here ? I just acquired a 1905 Ross Sporter - Mk2 Sporter I guess,From a friend. It has been hanging on the wall of his shop for a few years. Upon restoration I encountered one of the most fouled barrels I have encountered. I HAD to resort to a steel bore brush. 115 years or so of crud. It now has a shinny bore and good rifeling. This is my first Ross. They are not Enfieldish at all. Upon net warning I have not taken the bolt down. The warning is that you will find they come apart easy , but reassembly....not so easy.. Action works nicely - gave it a needed cleanup and a bit of re-blue. I wiped the stock down with acitone and it does not need a re-finish. Hey they don't make this stuff any more so I love to restore them for their future holders. Boy, I sure wish I could do pics for you but I cant.
