Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Australian Enfield Mark 111 Lithgow rifle markings
I just picked up my first MK III* and it is a 1941 Lithgow. Apart from surplus and rolling your own, any input on the best ammunition available for it. Seems local gun show guys like to talk about the 1000's of rounds they have hoarded away but not about selling any. My only box is from 1942 and Winchester Lend Lease made so I'd rather not burn that up.

Hey MauserMadness. can you really be worrying about 303 ammo with that kind of a name???
Seriously, you have a chance to get some.. SOG (That is right in your neck of the woods to boot) has some 1940s British 303 right now... I picked up a few cases.. I have found they work good, they are Berdan primed, so harder to reload,, But they all went boom.. My only complaint with them is SOG shipped them in those plastic ammo cans and when they arrive those plastic ammo cans were busted to pieces.. So do not think you will get any plastic cans out of the deal.

Hey Indy 1919A4, Thanks for the heads up, I havent checked SOG for a bit and my google game must not of been strong!
I used to do a lot of reenacting in the Indianapolis area. Next month I have to go down to work on a friends White M3A1 Scout car for an Eastern Front Event at Fort Benjamin Harrison.

During WW11 much of Winchesters production was unreliable and relegated to 'practice use only' and DEFINITELY not for use in aircraft as it casued jams.MauserMadness wrote: ↑Wed Jan 17, 2018 8:16 pmI just picked up my first MK III* and it is a 1941 Lithgow. If you pm me your email address I send you a Pdf of the 'Pamphlet' which includes the details - it is also interesting to note that that all ammunition is relegated to practice when it is 10 year old (tropical regions) and 15 years (temperate regions) See page 81 of the above pamphlet.indy1919a4 wrote: ↑Thu Jan 18, 2018 11:25 amI am really intrigued with this.. are there any records or extra details as to how unreliable??? Thanks for that - great site that I was not aware of.Tidewater_Kid wrote: ↑Sun Jan 21, 2018 2:23 pmI believe the pamplets are available here:

It seems that they do not have the Pamphlet Part 7, No 11 (Small Arms Ammunition)
They seem to have different series as their Pamphlet No 11 is "Pistol (.38")

The Cover only as it is too large to post the full copy.
