Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Weird markings!! I, have no clue, as what the letters and numbers mean.
I, have a correction on the rifles date. I, posted date as 1928.
The correct date is 1929

That's in pretty great shape. PAX
Re: A rifle from India
I think the "120" is a Rack Number. ( I have an ISHY with a number painted on buttstock )
Not sure the the 4 letters are?

I remember reading of an Enfield out of India with the letters DPBF were on it for Drill Purpose Blank Firing. Trying to make sense of the CLHC marking and coming up blank.
ETA: Did find a post which shows a lot of ugly looking SMLE with defects and such, and he has a picture of a pile of stock pieces with the CLHC marking, but didn't know what it meant. Its about half way down on the below link. So it's at least not unique to your rifle, but yours is the best looking.

My that is a beauty... Love the markings... and if it was ceremonial that would explain the excellent condition
Of course considering who the Calcutta light house were, they may have brought it along when they attacked the Germans..
