Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

My No 4 Mk 1 (T)

#1 Post by LarryHoosier » Wed Dec 13, 2017 10:44 pm

The latest edition to my sniper collection. 1944 BSA Shirley No 4 mk 1 (T) with No 32 mk 3 scope in excellent working order and very clear, also transit box and canvas field case. I have not shot it yet but will as weather permits.

The transit box had a couple of structural issues. The leather handles were toast and a large chunk of wood was gone from the left side of the lid. I replicated the leather using the originals as pattern and put in a tight wood repair. I kept the original leather with the box and did not attempt to hide the wood repair. The box will now function as it should without falling apart.

The Enfield is the sharpest 'glass wearing' rifle of WWII, rivaled only by a high turret Mauser. Imho.

Gorgeous...and I'm sure painful to your wallet to acquire! I now wish I had bought one years ago when they were much more affordable, but of course I thought they were too expensive even then...woulda, coulda, shoulda...the story of my gun collecting life.

I, have a Enfield #4 MK 1 (T), in my collection. Note photos rifle and scope markings
Rifle
T
M 47
C
England
1944
Serial # M 33902
Scope
Tel sighting
double (W)
N0 32 MK 1
1943 2674
serial # OS 466 A
I, have noticed,on most of these scopes, they have the # 32 markings and do not have vision covers.
Photos will show, mine, has # 32 markings and has front and rear brass vision covers.
I, have to wonder, just how many, of these two versions were made??
