Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

2 grove dimensions vs 5 grove dimenesions!

#1 Post by Black Prince » Mon Sep 09, 2019 7:20 am

Hi I am wondering  about this dilemma.
I guess that the 2 grove would be a looser or not as tight a twist as the 5 grove barrel.
Could or would some one know the twist rate for both, or point me in the right direction.

Cheers

ps 49ers got up if any one is interested.
I know what I like and like what I know.

I'm not sure I follow the logic?
AFAIK all the variations land/Grove patterns have the same twist rate as they're stabilizing the same Mk VII projectile. 1 in 10" and with a left hand twist.
Its a simple test if you have the rifles. Put a tightly patched oiled jag on a rod, push it in the MUZZLE for about 18". & note its rotational position with a Sharpie "dot". Withdraw till it makes 1 full revolution & measure the distance its moved.

Twist is the same 2 or 5 groove barrel.
