Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Last Ditch Arisaka

#1 Post by skslvr2 » Tue Jun 27, 2017 2:02 pm

I bought a last ditch at a auction, and apparently didnt look at it as close as should have but would have still have bought it, but the the front screw on the floor plate is a hardware store screw and I would like to get a original to replace it, where is the recommended places to get one? Also, it is a Nagoya arsenal but the series mark I am not sure of. It looks like how some people write a 7 with a line across the long down line of the 7 and the the long down line is curved.

Congrats on your purchase. Sounds like a series 8 Nagoya. The screw shouldn't be to hard to spurce. If someone here doesn't have one I would check the usual suspects; Numrich, Liberty Tree Collectors, Springfield Sporters and eBay. Let's see some pictures.

I've read plenty about these last ditch rifles but, have never seen one. Pictures would be nice, please?

Steve though this isn't the same series as the OPs rifle this is an example of a late war "last ditch" rifle made by the Jinsen arsenal in Korea. Some of the features that make a last ditch rifle are a wooden butt plate nailed onto the butt stock, a fixed rear sight instead of a pop up sight, and in some cases a large recoil bolt in the stock itself as seen in my example
