I would like to know more about your .268 military bullets . I can not think what they would be . With the round nose bullets I have , Dutch = .263 , Japanese = .2625 , Swedish - .262 .

I have one, as well. I tested it out with standard 6.5 Japanese loads made for my T-38. I never got to fine tuning loads for it or using other than virgin brass, but it preferred the Sierra #1730, 140 gr., SP Boat-tails.

Guilding metal jacket, lead core 158 grains. No idea who made them.

I loaded up some .262.264.267's to try at our 500 yard Santa Shoot practice this Saturday. No pressure signs with any bullet tried. Should be interesting to see which bullet the rifle really shoots well.

Signed up specifically for this thread. Anyway, I bought my Type I for $100 at a pawn shop. So far within 100 yards it has hit everything I aimed at. I have not had a chance to shoot any farther. Someone did sporterize it by shortening the length of the stock. The barrel and chamber do not seem to be touched. Used some 6.5 Jap from Graf and Son's. So for accuracy I would say, yes it is an accurate rifle.

The rifle has turned out to be an outstanding shooter. Brass life will be very good as case base swelling is far less than a Type 38 issue rifle.
