Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Japanese Collection updates

#1 Post by Ghostrider5211 » Sun Jul 15, 2018 10:52 pm

Been collection Japanese as my main interest for the last two years or so. Here's my line up so far, from the top:

1.) 23rd (could be 26th but I'm not digging it out of the safe) Series Kokura Type 38. Matches by assembly number.
2.) 30th Series Jinsen Type 38. Matches by assembly number.
3.) 4th Series Nagoya Type 38 Carbine. Mismatched, but bolt matches itself.
4.) 4th Series Nagoya Type 99. All matching except dust cover and safety.
5.) 7th Series Nagoya Type 99. All matching.
6.) 6th Series Nagoya Type 99. All matching.
7.) 35th Series Toyo Kogyo Type 99. All matching.
8.) 9th Series Howa Type 99. All matching.
9.) 27th Series Toyo Juki Kojyo Type 99. All matching.
10.) 37th Series Toyo Juki Kojyo Type 99. All matching.
11.) 1st Series Nagoya Type 99. All matching, stock has been battle damaged but screws remain staked.
12.) 2nd Contract Siamese Mauser, manufactured by Kokura Arsenal circa 1903-1905. Integrated dust cover. 8x50 Siamese.
13.) Nagoya Kukurubunji 2nd Run Type 14 Nambu, 1936. All matching.

Enjoy!

How many have sling ,mum intact, matching with papers? Do you take the slings off for display?
To old to fight and to old to run, a Jar head will just shoot and be done with you.

Hi 72usmc,

Only one of the rifles has a full mum, and that would be the Series 1 with the broken stock. Some other ones have partial mums. I don't collect flowers haha!

I only have one sling and it's a reproduction. I keep it on the rifle it came attached to. I will post a pic of my display. These rifles get their own little spot in the war room.

And I have none with capture papers. That's really unheard of around these parts.

For your % stats . I have about 350 Arisakas . I collected them by series and maker as the main interest . Matching 90 % , Mums 50 % , Slings 15 % , Papers 5 % .
