This is a 3rd series Type 99 with all it's original parts, all matching, with the mum and original rubberized canvas sling.
This rifle matches by the following parts:
Bayonet lug
Bolt handle
Extractor
Striker
Dust cover
The stock is a bit worn down, but not sanded. A single proof is visible on the stock, but the "Na" (I believe that's what it's called) seems to have worn away.
The sling is hardened, as these rubberized types usually are, and the buckle a bit rusted but it's in nice shape and still has some original writing in paint on it, which I think is a nice little touch.
This is actually my first complete early Type 99 with all the bells and whistles, so I'm very happy to have picked it up. I'll have it on display this weekend with some other rifles at the Rochester Gun Show.
Enjoy the photos!
