I know a location with many of the stuffed squirrels doing various things. Here's one set...

I think many of the mounts that were shown are older ones. They didn't have prefabricated body moulds back then and the taxidermist had to create their own from plaster or other material. It isn't as easy as it might seem. I can remember a "hot dog" rabbit that I did years ago.

They look like they are really old, probably home tanned hides. They could have looked good 40+ years ago, time can really take its tole.

Now the squirrels I like!

Yeah I would imagine old time taxidermists had a tough time mounting something. My wife's cousin had a bobcat mounted about 15 years ago, and it looks cross-eyed. Everything else looks good on it though. I've seen deer mounted that looked like they had a scared look.
