Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

1945 BYF kreigsmodell HT sniper rifle

#1 Post by LarryHoosier » Sat Jul 08, 2017 3:51 pm

This is a K98 kreigsmodell with all of the correct sniper nomenclature, serial# in the stock channel, take down hole in the buttstock wood but with checkered cupped buttplate, and added take down escutcheon in the stock. However, the scope mounts and rings are J. Sauer & Sohn so were probably put on later. The scope is a very nice Kahles. The rig is in really nice condition overall and somewhat unique among HT sniper rifles.

This is the sort of crude duffle cut stock

The scope cover is a reproduction but finding hen's teeth is getting more difficult every day!

Yes I have shot it but I took the scope off and used irons! I've some experience with vintage scopes and what happens when vintage meets stupid, but I'll just let you figure the outcome!

Very nice sniper rifle! I'd shoot it anyway. There is a company in AZ who can redo all seals and clean lenses.
