Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

X on Lebel barrel

I found an X on my Lebel barrel and just heard that it means that the French considered it unsuitable for firing. I've fired it 275 times with handloads, no commercial loads, and haven't seen any indication of trouble with brass or rifle.

The forestock did have some damage which is now repaired. Could that be the cause of the X?
