I would thin it a bit before using with raw linseed oil or turpentine. Keep it out of a closed area, the fumes are a bit strong.
As always use rubber gloves the smell will stay with you a few days.
My bottle of birch tar oil came in & its the real deal of 500 mils and it took the four weeks that was given for the package. Quiet the honor for me my first package from the Russian Federation.
It smelled rough compared to the steamed processed sample that came from India, this real deal you get the full smoke smell plus :)
Plus it is a lot cheaper also I noticed the additional bottles are the same price each but just 4 dollars more in shipping.

Here are 2 unusual pictures.
I am posting them because I have been insulted by a a poster that said I passed them off as the real deal.
By selling them years back. Nope I stll have them as you can see. And some will be treated with birch tar oil.

A few that was recently treated with raw linseed oil that dries in 2 days. one picture with flash one without.
Also be aware pine tar itself will cose up tiny weather cracks & small screw holes. It is the nature of the thing.
Some refitting of the action may be needed.
A tight action may result in splits & cracks from recoil when fired

!0 years back I got into M14 stocks nothing ever came of my ideas but I think the beauty is still there. This was the end result of a display board & the M14 stubies I used.
A stubie is what is left from a damaged stock.I had plans to mount the stubies on a birch plank for the background all with a first treatment with wood oil.
