This is posted elsewhere.................needed some fast responses on this!

Hey guys, I found a couple of gems today while out shopping. Need some advice on which one to put on layaway.

The first one was an Astra 600 pistol in 9mm Luger. Finish is about 80%, with even patina. Numbers matching including the magazine and the serial number is #12476 which fits in the second contract range. These are the pistols that Nazi Germany ordered but couldn't be delivered because of D-Day. I cant find any West German police markings on the pistol and no import markings either. Price is $300 but I can get some wiggle room on it.

The second one is a 1944 dated Beretta 1935 pistol in .32acp caliber. This has the late war phosphate finish on the frame and worn bluing on the slide. What really sets this apart is the WWII sweetheart grips made out of aircraft plexiglass. One grip has the army guy in uniform with his girl and the other has a close-up of his girlfriend. The condition of the pistol is really nice. From what I understand these late war 1944 dated pistols are hard to find? Numbers matching on the whole pistol and the price is $275.

What do you guys think?

Chris

Berettas are not that hard to find. I would reject one without original grips. Some collectors might like the photo grips, but not me.

Regards,
Bill

I think that's a good price for the astra, the beretta, as the other poster said might be a good deal if you like the grips, to a collector, maybe not.

I'd get them both if possible. That's a good price for the Astra and they are great pistols. The Beretta's are easy to find but the grips sound really cool and I like trench art stuff like that.

I second what Tater said :thumb: . Get them both if you can swing it. They both have history and you can keep your eyes open for a pair of original grips for the Beretta.
