Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: AK-74 800 yard target damage

The jackets seem to shatter like glass when they hit steel. Flesh would be very nasty indeed if it hit bone.

Privi Partizan from Graf&Sons or MidwayUSA. 208 grain Spitzer Boat-tailed ( read above) the bullets are a true .330 in this last lot I bought.
Berdan primers are hit/Miss to find. Years ago I bought 50,000 from PMC.

Re: M39 Feed issues

A rim-lock will cause this as well. Always make sure the top round rim is in front of the round under it and so forth for the rest of the rounds. A trick is to always cycle the bolt SMARTLY, never slowly and deliberate. The action has an interrupter at the left rear of the receiver. If the bolt is c...

Re: AK-74 800 yard target damage

It took me awhile to find it but here is a photo of M855 .223 fired out of a 20" barreled AR15 with a 1:7 twist.
The penetrater only let a slight dent in the surface of the AR500 plate at 800 yards.

AK-74 800 yard target damage

I held an 800 yard practice last Saturday. There were several calibers present and all shooters did well hitting the target,a man silhouette made of AR500 steel. I built a triggering device that fires an electronic flash when the target is struck. It does not need a heavy hit to trip the flash. For ...

8x56R 208 grain long range load

The quest for duplicating the 8x56R 208 grain sptizer boat-tail FMJ load has been an interesting road. The Nazi loading from the late 1930's has always been the pinnacle of performance to meet by the handloader. As you know 99% of the posted loads are anemic at best due to the shooters being very re...

Timing is everything. I just cast up 250 .58 Mine' Balls for my Zouave. I miss the fun of clouds of smoke and the slow shooting.

Re: 7.62MM Garand

The rifles were used for bullseye competitions. Thy shoot very well indeed. Check to see if your stock has Acuglass or other beading compound in it? If not is may be one of the barreled actions CMP sold a few years back and put into a stock. I cannot confirm the "Mine" use,as all of my ships had M-1...
