Well, the board is either fixed, or it's going to run terribly. Cross your fingers and hope for the best. I'm at my technical limit right now.

Re: Rolling Tire Pistol Target version II

I was using my .32 ACP reloads and a cast bullet moving at 1,200 FPS. It's almost like cheating.

Re: Rolling Tire Pistol Target version II

Shooters are ten yards away. No lead needed just don't stop your swing. The bullet is moving far faster than the target is rolling.
There is a START and STOP marker for the shooters safe fire zone.

Rolling Tire Pistol Target version II

20 years ago I made a rolling target launcher that worked well but time was hard on it. The NM weather dry rotted the wood. Yesterday I made a new one out of 1x8 x 12' planks, a hinge and a trip rod/rope. This time I used a Trap Door release device which is 100% dependable to let the tire roll down ...

5,7 Johnson 200 yard range report #1

I had a chance to go to the range today to try a load from the bench. It was cold but winds were 5 MPH or less. The target was a 1/4 size man torso target set to 200 yards. My load was a 40 grain Sierra SPFB bullet over 13 grains of IMR-4227. The 5.7 Johnson cartridge can only take a bullet shape th...

Shooting my first reloads out of a 98K in 1964

I had worked all summer long in order to get enough money to by a LEE Loader in 8x57MM Mauser, a box of Speer 170 grain round nose bullets ( all the gun shop had) a pound of IMR-4350 and a flat of primers. I bought the RCBS lube pad and their god awful lube that was like a mixture of STP and honey. ...

A neat, fun tool to play with. You need to do a range report on paper and show us how far each tick-mark moves the bullet strike.

8x52R Siamese with surplus powder & heavy bullet

I found a load today for the 8x52R Siamese Mauser rifle using a 208 grain .330,yes .330 diameter FMJ bullet. First and foremost, the Siamese Mausers bore is not .323 and never has been for this model. Of Type 66 rifles I own the bore size is .327. Firing .323 diameter bullets will give you poor accu...

Welcome to SRF. It would be great if you could do a Mosin Nagant rifle test in the real cold of Russia.

Once the range dries out, I'll do a 500 meter range report and let you know how it shoots.
