The cleaning rod in my short is also 15 5/8" but it is not matching so it could be from a long, but if it was shorter than 11" it would not thread in.

Should be the same as the original rod. Original Rod was matching to the rifle. I can measure one of mine tomorrow. Mine are still in 7mm but length should be the same.

Re: Just what is a Spanish Mauser?

I don't understand the question either. Some were made for Spain and some were made in Spain. Army Cook described it perfectly if you ask me.

Dutch FN-48 Queen Wilhelmina All Matching

Got this one recently. Haven't had a chance to get better pics due to weather. It's all matching in like new condition. Also got it at a very reasonable price. It is one of my favorites. Second Shortest Military Mauser I know of but this one is in 8mm Mauser whereas the Mexican FN Model 1924 is 7mm ...

Re: Brazilian 1908 non matching Long rifle.

For ammo I second the FN from the 1970s. Also Chilean Military Surplus. If newer than I believe 1973 it is non corrosive. That 1930s FN is best to pull for components. Congrats on your purchase. I decided to pass on the 30’s FN ammo. Other expenses have arisen, don’t ya know. Now the trick will be ...

Re: Brazilian 1908 non matching Long rifle.

If need be, should I attempt to recrown the Muzzle since this is a non matching gun? If need be l, of course.. Non matching I see no harm in a recrown. Prices are all over the place for the 1908 Brazilian I bought one last year all matching for $400 shipped at local auction. Seen mixmasters in much...

Repro 42 VKT M39 SOV

They just sold a M/39-43 and SOV at auction in Finland. Hammer Price was 2,500€ and 2,700€ + 13% Buyers premium. Plus 50€ Finnish license fee per rifle plus another $1,000 to bring them both here. Both rifles were bought by known Finnish Collectors. Final price about $4,000 each. I'm guessing repro ...

Re: Another Mas 36

Anyone in America looking for a MAS-36 local guy has one for sale marked and matching everywhere but the forestock is not numbered. Great condition. Cursive L block 80xxx. Would that make it 1945? He is asking $550. If interested PM me.

Re: Brazilian Mausers

Thank you . I got to look at my Chilean mausers. Sounds like I got the wrong slings from Gander. Maybe they are Brazilian or Spanish. They have not been out in 12 years. Those are some nicely stamped intact crests that have not been worn smooth. We no longer see South American Mausers at guns shows...
