Re: M91/59 stock crack

Thanks, Candyman!

Unfortunately, my free time has gone out the window since I posted this, but I'm hoping to be able to get back to this soon.

Re: Mosin values

That about sets the base for Cincinnati. They are creeping up these days. I've got a couple mismatched M44s I just listed in a local forum for a FTF, with a close to "I don't really want to sell" prices, to feel out the market. PAX Ive got a pair of M44s that Centerfire sold as "battlefield pickup"...

Re: Mosin values

It's my understanding that sometime after WWII, these rifles were disassembled into parts, then the parts repaired and refinished to spec, and re-assembled, often with ground and re-stamped matching serial numbers in a nightmarish experiment to forever frustrate American collectors sometime in the ...

Re: M91/59 stock crack

Thanks! I love the box o truth guy, but shuddered at him duracoating that Enfield. I've seen the brass screw repair before, and heard that it's consistent with British repairs, but I'm trying to maintain this rifle's historical value, and that's not something I've seen on Mosins. I'll take another l...

Re: Mosin values

I offered it up for 300, it's not counterbored, matching straight bolt, force-matched mag floor plate, repaired stock where the scope was originally located, and I'm throwing in 100 rounds of surplus ammo. I have another ex sniper that's all matching, without the stock repair, both are Izzys, no MO ...

Re: Walmart says 21 to buy a long gun

There are certainly those who want them all gone, as there are those who advocate for no restrictions what so ever. The task for people of reason is to find a tolerable medium. My vote is for expansion of mental health services, and yes, I can live with increasing the legal age to 21 and strengtheni...

M91/59 stock crack

I have a 91/59 with a crack in the stock right in front of the wrist (pics below). It's not wide, but if I flex the stock, it does open up literally a hair's breadth, both on the side of the stock, and inside, where the rear bolt of the receiver comes through. Any suggestions as to the best way to r...

Re: Walmart says 21 to buy a long gun

One thing that gets me is the notion that firearms laws are fundamentally offensive because they assume that everyone can't be trusted with the safe ownership of guns. To put it bluntly, the list of people who can't be trusted is downright huge, and I don't have a problem getting a background check ...

Re: Walmart says 21 to buy a long gun

Being as psychotic breaks typically happen between the ages of 14-25, if we're serious about addressing school shootings as a mental health issue, we have to acknowledge that school shooters generally fit a profile and take that profile into account. I believe in gun rights, hell, i wouldn't be here...

Re: Survival Situation

In an SHTF situation, it's AK47 (or some decent variant) all the way as a first choice, but if that's restricted, I would consider something like a sub-rifle in 9mm (KT Sub-2000), or maybe a Ruger Mini-14 or Mini-30 if you needed a punchier round. Lighter than an M1 with better capacity. ... But.......

Re: Polytech SKS Hunter Question

I'm still on "damn gun only holds 5 rounds" - last time I checked the SKS holds 10 - or is this a limited mag of some kind?

I'm in OH as well, if you decide you want to get rid of it, we can talk
